You'll reach hundreds of thousands of residents and tourists through three online calendars of events *ottawa.ca/spotlight*, *canadascapital.gc.ca* and * gatineau.ca* by filling out one simple event submission. This promotional opportunity is completely free! *NEW ? We are joining Open Data Ottawa. This will provide the event information we are collecting (approx. 1,500 events) to users to reuse as they wish. For example, this can help your web developer update your own web site with the information you submitted to the events calendar, or it can lead to a new ipod or blackberry application which will get your events in the hands of the new generation. This is a brand new initiative that can broaden the reach and use of the event information we are collecting. We are really excited about the possibilities, more details will follow.* *Submit your events* in the language of your choice and we take care of translating the information for a bilingual audience. In order to save you time, make sure to review your submitted 2009 events to see if any of these can be copied and modified for your 2010-2011 events. We have created a submission process with you in mind. It includes: - Check boxes, drop down menus, as well as pre-populated fields to make it quick and easy to fill out your event information - A copy function that allows you to duplicate or modify like events - The flexibility to manage, update and view your own events, anytime. Tips 1. To make submitting events faster and easier, make sure you are using the *Copy* function. The Copy event function allows you to use the information details from a previous event. You are then able to modify the details as you see fit and submit it as a new event. The copy function is intended to save you time when there is repeated information from one event to the next. We suggest that you wait to copy an event until after it has been translated. This ensures that many of the repetitive fields are already translated for your next submission, saving time and translation costs. 2. If you have forgotten your password it is easy to reset.
